§ 13-12. Temporary business permit requirements, categories, and fees.

  • When an organization, business, or profession does not meet the specified standards for an occupational license; or whenever an event changes the current, normal operation/facade either indoors or outdoors, of a private or public facility, a temporary business permit may be issued. However, whether or not the event requires a permit, the business(es) must meet federal, state, county, and city regulations/guidelines. No permit can be issued for more than thirty (30) days, and any break in operations of three (3) days will require a new permit.

    (a)

    Temporary business permits.

    (1)

    Category I. Temporary business permits are issued to the businesses housed in a temporary business structure, (defined), which will operate in support of short-term special projects or activities of five (5) days or less.

    (2)

    Category II. Temporary business permit is issued to businesses housed in temporary business structures, (defined), that intend to operate alone not in support of a special event or activity, for a period of thirty (30) days from the date issued and may be renewed for one (1) additional period thereafter per calendar year.

    (b)

    The fee for Category I and II temporary business permits is fifty-seven dollars and seventy-five cents ($57.75) each.
