§ 13-8. Coin operated devices.

  • The owner of each coin or legal tender operated device must pay the license fees set forth herein prior to any such coin/legal tender operated device being put in operation. If the owner of the coin or legal tender operated device and the business owner are one in [and] the same only one (1) fee shall apply. The owner of any properly licensed business where such coin or legal tender operated device is located and operated shall pay the license fees set forth herein. All coin or legal tender operated devices in operation without a valid license tax having been paid thereon will be confiscated by the license inspector and held until the license fee due thereon plus twenty-five (25) per cent penalty and moving and storage charges are paid. No license fee shall be required for any coin or legal tender operated device where the entire proceeds of such device are used for charitable purposes as recognized by the Internal Revenue Code, nor for telephones or newspaper, soap, detergent dispensers.
