§ 14-32. Submission of request to special events coordinator; contents.

  • Whenever a motion picture or still production is planned to be done within the corporate limits of the city, the applicant thereof shall, at least fifteen (15) days prior thereto, submit to the special events coordinator a letter of request for approval and a non-refundable check made payable to the City of Cocoa Beach for a motion and still photography production permit as set forth in the Code of Ordinances, Chapter 32, Schedule of Fees, under Chapter 14, Special Events Fee Schedule. The special events coordinator shall forward to the applicant a copy of the motion picture and still photography section of the special events ordinance. This shall include a "pre-production assessment list" outlining specific items that will be discussed in the planning meeting, and a (sample) "indemnification form—motion picture and still photography production". THE APPLICANT MUST COMPLETE THE "PRE-PRODUCTION ASSESSMENT LIST" AS IT APPLIES AND SUBMIT IT TO THE SPECIAL EVENTS COORDINATOR ALONG WITH A COMPLETED SITE PLAN TWO (2) WORKING DAYS PRIOR TO THE SPECIAL EVENTS COMMITTEE MEETING. In addition to the applicant representative(s), an applicant designated production planner and safety coordinator also must attend the planning meeting. The letter of request for approval shall outline the following:

    Desired location(s) of production

    Type of production

    Type of activities related to production

    Dates and times of production

    Name and address of applicant/production company

    Contact person(s), telephone number(s)

    Estimated number of personnel involved in production
