§ 5-33. Ocean—Extreme conditions.

  • The police and fire departments shall have the power to restrict or eliminate all activities such as swimming, fishing, vessel operation and other water activities in the ocean when there exists a strong likelihood of injury or damage to persons or damage to property due to extreme high water, dangerous tidal conditions, severe wind conditions, electrical storms, or the presence of sharks or other dangerous marine life, or any other condition that presents a clear and present danger to those persons in the ocean.
