§ 9-1. Adoption of Florida Fire Prevention Code, National Fire Codes.

  • There is hereby adopted by the city, for the purpose of prescribing regulations governing conditions hazardous to life and property from fire or explosion, those certain codes known as the Florida Fire Prevention Code, as promulgated by the Florida Division of State Fire Marshal, same and except such portions as are hereinafter deleted, modified or amended. This shall include and is based upon the NFPA 1, Uniform Fire Code, and -the NFPA 101, Life Safety Code. The Florida Fire Prevention Code to be adopted shall be the most recent edition, and shall hereafter include any amendments thereto as may be adopted from time to time. There shall be one (1) copy of the aforementioned editions filed in the office of the fire marshal of the city, and the same one hereby adopted and incorporated as fully as if set out at length herein, and from the date on which this section shall take effect. The provisions thereof shall be controlling within the corporate limits of the city. In the event of conflict between the provisions of said codes, and the city's ordinances, the more restrictive shall apply.
