§ 3.04. City attorney.

  • The city commission shall appoint a city attorney who shall act as legal adviser to and attorney for the city, the city commission, and the city manager in matters relating to their official duties.

    The city attorney shall be a lawyer admitted in and having authority to practice in all the courts of the state.

    The commission shall have the power and authority to employ or contract for other legal services when necessary to carry out the duties and responsibilities of the city government.

    The City Attorney shall serve at the pleasure of the City Commission.
