§ 7.06. Results of referendum.

  • If a majority of the qualified voters voting in a referendum on a proposed ordinance or ordinance amendment vote in its favor, it shall be considered adopted upon certification of the election results and shall be treated in all respects in the same manner as ordinances of the same kind adopted by the commission, provided, however, that the same shall not be amended or repealed except by a vote of four (4) members of the commission.

    If a majority of the qualified voters voting in a referendum on a request to repeal an existing ordinance vote in favor of repeal, the ordinance shall be considered repealed upon certification of the election results.
