§ 14-5. Special event permit; fee/issuance.

  • (a)

    The special events coordinator will prepare a planning meeting agreement stipulating the terms and conditions of the permit and all estimated fees. All estimated fees shall be paid by at least twenty-one (21) days prior to the event. Failure to pay the estimated fees shall result in the permit not being issued.

    (b)

    If an entire special event is canceled for weather emergency declared by Brevard County Emergency Management, all fees other than the event application fee and the fees for services rendered shall be reimbursed to the applicant(s).

    (c)

    It is the city's intent to acknowledge the request and process all applications for special event permits in a prudent and expeditious manner, whether approved or disapproved.

    (d)

    The city is not responsible for any expenses an applicant may incur prior to approval of a special events permit, including, but not limited to, advertising, printing, posters, banners, etc. Additionally, City of Cocoa Beach is not responsible for the financial success of a special event.
